Come out to support the Westport Volunteer fire Department with music from Burning Down the House, Steven Bastes Band, West of Nowhere, steven Bates solo on Saturday August 15. Barbecued chicken and loaded baked potatoes will be for sale. Vegan chili will also be available. Beer and wine, coffee, sweets and non-alcoholic beverages can be purchased. Craft merchants and a silent auction. There will be plenty of fun activities including a bounce house and face painting. A medical helicopter from Reach may pay a visit if weather and availability cooperate. (Sorry, no dogs.) The Westport Volunteer Fire Department provides year-round initial 911 emergency response service 24/7 for medical emergencies, motor vehicle accidents, traumatic injuries and fires on the Northern Mendocino Coast. Our response area covers roughly 190 square miles. Proceeds of the event will be used to fund critical repairs and upgrades to the firehouse.
