Volunteers at Ukiah Animal Shelter

Date & Time:

April 11 @ 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM

If you love animals and have some extra kisses, become a UKIAH ANIMAL SHELTER VOLUNTEER! When you volunteer, you become part of the solution to the homeless pets in our county. Contact with volunteers helps relieve a dog or cat’s stress, making each pet-to-be more trustful, less shy, and better mannered. In turn, those dogs and cats become more desirable as pets, and more adoptable. Day to day you will notice the change in an animal’s demeanor, and can watch their personalities begin to shine! The process is very rewarding—for you, for the dogs and cats, and the adopter! At the Ukiah Shelter, they have a constant intake of dogs and cats, each needing TLC and relief from the stress of being kenneled. The first step to becoming a volunteer is to attend a one hour orientation, held the second Saturday of every month at 9 a.m. After the orientation, we hold a dog walking training. If you are younger than 18 years of age, please be sure to bring your parent or legal guardian with you. PLEASE WEAR LONG-ISH PANTS AND CLOSED-TOE SHOES!
