Night Closurers Jack Peters Creek Bridge

The next full overnight closures at the Jack Peters Creek Bridge on Highway 1, north of Mendocino, are scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday, January 8-9, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. to facilitate bridge falsework installation. These closures are weather-dependent and subject to change, and motorists are advised to plan accordingly. During the nighttime closures, emergency responders will be escorted across the bridge.
The Jack Peters Creek Bridge, originally constructed in 1939, will be widened to accommodate two 12-foot wide lanes, two 6-foot wide shoulders, and a 6-foot wide separated pedestrian walkway on the west side of the bridge, connecting the California Coastal Trail from County Road 500 D to Lansing Drive.
