WELL and the Little Lake Grange will host a gathering to celebrate the end of summer and the bounty of this year’s harvest. Sunday, Oct. 4, 1-4pm at the Grange. They will have reports from the action groups that grew out of the Town Hall meetings on Food Security at the Grange over the past year. In addition, the Harvest Celebration will include entertainment, kid-friendly crafts and food processing demonstrations including lined apple pressing with apple juice available to take home, bring a jar or purchase one for a donation; acorn processing demonstration; seed saving including how to clean and store seeds for next year – with seeds to take home; winnowing grains demonstration; a Grange garden tour; pumpkin painting; corn doll making; and more in the works. Bring your extra harvest abundance to share with neighbors and the Food Bank; Bring seeds to clean and share!
The event is free of charge; however donation jars are very appreciated. The monies collected will go to support the efforts of the presenters, the Grange and WELL.
